Food For Thought....

Literal meaning of this thing is "food for thought - anything that provides mental stimulus for thinking intellectual nourishment, food
cognitive content, mental object, content - the sum or range of what has been perceived, discovered, or learned
pabulum - insipid intellectual nourishment". But do you really think... our education system provides nourishment to Student's Thoughts?????......may be sometimes in some good institutes in India.

We have a "SQUARE" education system and we are bond to think inside that SQUARE only. If somebody tries to go beyond that, then...most of the people from the society, even from his/her family scold them. Have they ever asked the person, what are his/her dreams and what is he/she trying for. A competitive world has covered everything and this not only happens with schools, colleges or institutes but in organizations too.

Why why why ????....an incident happened with me, when I was in std 5th. I just tried the correct thing but I lost few marks for that so called "MISTAKE" as per my biology teacher. There was a question in bio-exam ...Draw a neat and labeled diagram of "AMOEBA".....and I did that.

"An Amoeba has no definite shape or size because it uses amoebic movement as a form of locomotion" and biology book had Sleeper (footwear) shaped diagram, but I thought that Amoeba has no shape and drew a Circle with all other necessary information. According to my teacher I should have COPIED "Sleeper" as per the book. Does that really matter???? Oh, common ma'am, Amoeba has no shape, but she was firm at her decision that I made a mistake. Bull****..!!!!

Another incident happened with my friend. A brilliant human being and his favorite subject is mathematics. He used to score only in maths and in other subjects.....average. But one day he made a mess of our maths teacher. He dared to ask him 1 IIT problem @ that age....no no .....yup I am serious and that too in 8th class. I can't believe this. But its true.....and my maths teacher scolded him for not being able to concentrated on class study. Why ......?????? because he never had done anything related to IIT problem in his whole life.

And this saga continues, from school to college and then so on.

Why don't we are allowed to think differently apart from books. We are just a bunch people who can do RATTA, but can't understand it. A simple thing, a story of "Shivaji Maharaj" assassinating "Afzalkhan"....and you have been asked to write some lines about it. There are 2 kind of students who explain this ....one actually explains this with his own words and imagination and scene creation and other student.....he just writes what is given there in book. Bingo ......!!!!!!! The 2nd student tops that exam and the first one just gets 50%. What was important here......Shivaji Maharaj killed Afzalkhan.....how??.....that was written by a writer based on facts and history..... but in his own words.

Because of "spoon-feeding", students always ask for notes. Why do they want notes?????? Dude, you have information, gather it and prepare your own. If any teacher try not to spoon-feed, then students form committee and complain about that person who tried to give them chance to learn more and moreover to learn on their own.

Why American and European countries are well ahead than India??????, thinking power and ability to do something new. They tell their students to inspire but not to copy.

So, please try to think out of box...or for that matter think that there is no box. You don't have any limitation, boundary on your most vulnerable and powerful part....your BRAIN. Let it be free and you will see the difference.

And rest....who are in opposition party ...give some respect to what is correct. And try that, no student in India commit suicide and sing "Give me some sunshine and give me some rain, Give me another chance and I wanna grow up once again" before committing it.

PEACE..!!!

  3. Reality check saki....America and European countries are not ahead of us because they have got better brains. The reason behind it is entirely different. And as far as the article concerned above everything is not entirely true. If it was like that then Indian students would not have been doing so well in India as well as abroad.
